As an MIT student, we believe that one of the most important decisions you make when you enter the Institute is where you live. Each of our residence halls, and often, each of their floors, suites, wings, and entries, are so uniquely different, that we are confident you will find a place that fits you and your unique personality as well.
The 2013-2014 waiting list opened on June 1.
As a current student who was on the waiting list for 2012-2013, you are eligible to roll over your record for the upcoming academic year. If you choose to do so, you will retain your original date of application. If you decide not to opt-in, your waiting list record will be removed from the database and you will need to reapply if you decide you want to move during the upcoming year.
All opt-in requests must be received no later than July 1.
The Housing Office has started the renewal process for 2012-2013 on-campus housing. Students who are currently living in one of the MIT residence halls have until April 6th to declare their intention for the upcoming academic year.
Welcome to MIT, Class of 2017!
We are happy to welcome you to MIT this coming fall. There is a lot to do before you get to campus and we are here to help. We will be posting more detailed information on your housing selection process, as it becomes available.

Current Students Living Off Campus Looking to Move Back On Campus
This form is for students looking for an assignment for the Fall 2013 semester ONLY.
Coming back to MIT from a Study Abroad?
All students who participate in an MIT-sponsored study abroad program are guaranteed housing when they return to campus if they follow this procedure:
Returning to MIT after a Withdrawal
Students take time away from MIT for several reasons. Most withdrawals are processed by Student Support Services (Vountary Withdrawals, Medical Withdrawals) or are voted on the The Committee on Academic Performance (Required Withdrawals).
Transferring to MIT?
For students who are transferring into MIT, we do our best to house all transfer students who request an on-campus assignment. You should recieve a letter from the UAAP regarding housing a few weeks before the deadline. For students who are transferring in for the fall semester, the deadline is generally mid-July, while spring semester transfers should apply by mid-January.
