B&Bs, Guesthouses & Home Stays
Bed and breakfasts (B&Bs), guesthouses, and home stays are usually accommodations within a private home. Most B&Bs and guesthouses are not appropriate for children. If a particular accommodation is child-friendly, it is noted on the listing. In a home-stay situation, property owners rent rooms to visitors from other countries to help them adjust to life in the United States. Most of the listings below are accessible via public transportation.

- Rates vary by season, and information on the individual websites may not reflect current pricing.
- Be sure to confirm the rate you will be paying when you make your reservation.
- All rates are subject to a Massachusetts room tax ranging from 5.7% to 12.45%.
- You may pay extra to park a vehicle.
- Advance reservations are highly recommended.
- Be sure to ask about the availability of an MIT discount, family rates, or other savings when you make your reservations.
- Home stays usually require membership in an organization.
